Unearned runs lift Lady Rockets past Paris

In four innings of work, Kailee Johnson gave up only one hit but the defense behind her gave up enough errors to allow the Scranton Lady Rockets to score three runs in the bottom of the third inning, enough to give them a 3-1 win over the Lady Eagles.

Rylee Pennington led off the top of the third inning with a single to right field, advanced to second on Macy Harrison’s grounder to the short stop, and came around to score on an error by the Lady Rocket’s when Kytan Tencleve laid down a bunt. This run was the only one that the Lady Eagles would be able to muster in the game.

In the bottom of the third, the Lady Eagles got the first two batters to pop-up for outs but then the wheels fell off and four consecutive errors by Paris left the doors open for the Lady Rockets who plated three runners to take a lead that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.

Scranton had a couple more runners reach base on errors later in the game but were not able to score any more runs but the Lady Eagles never had a runner on base after the third inning.
