Tennis team getting wins

The Subiaco Academy Tennis team defeated Booneville and Farmington and tied Prairie Grove in matches played recently.

The Trojans traveled to Booneville on Sept. 9, and found success on the Bearcout courts, defeating the Bearcats 5-1. Subiaco’s Jack Moser beat Wosley 6-1. Alex Sharum came from behind to out duel Owen, Boonevilel’s number two, 7-5. At number three singles, Nichol got another Subiaco victory.

Moser and Sharum teamed to notch a 6-1 win over the Booneville top doubles team. Riley and Tran added another victory for Subiaco at number two doubles.

Subiaco defeated Farmington 6-3 on Sept. 10.

Jack Moser defeated Holliman of Farmington 8-5 in the singles. The competition also feature singles wins by Brooks, Sharum and Reilly. Moser and Brooks continued their doubles streak with a 6-0 win.

Sharum and Reilly also were victorious in doubles competition. Giuliani, Trachier and Nichol lost in singles matches.

Subiaco tied Prairie Grove, 4-4

The Trojans met the Tigers in the first high school tennis match played on the Prairie Grove city courts.

Moser continued his unbeaten streak in singles and doubles with Brooks. Sharum also won in singles and with Reilly in doubles. Trachier and Brooks lost in singles. The teams of Tran and Shotwell and Nichol and Shotwell were defeated in doubles.

The Booneville Bearcats had only two players for the Sept. 17 match on the Subiaco courts. Subiaco was able to come away with a 3-2 win. In singles competition Moser beat Wolsey 8-1; Brooks beat Owens 8-2. Moser and Brooks overcame the Booneville duo 8-0. Reilly and Shotwell lost in singles.

On Sept. 19, the Trojans traveled to Farmington without their number one player, Jack Moser, and lost to the Cardinals 4-1. Reilly and Shotwell got the only Subiaco win, a 9-7 victory at number two doubles. Brooks, Sharum and Trachier lost at singles, as did Brooks and Sharum at number one doubles.
