Junior Eagles end season with a win

The Paris Junior Eagles closed out the 2013 football season at Eagles Stadium Thursday night with a 28-14 win over Danville.

The Junior Eagles finished the season 8-1. The team went 7-1 in conference play with the only loss coming in overtime against Charleston.

Paris jumped out to a 20-7 lead in the fourth quarter before Danville got its second score of the night on a 60-yard reverse pass against Paris’ second team defense.

The Eagles put up 236 yards of total offense on 27 plays and scored four touchdowns.

Cole Norton led the Eagles rushing attack getting 111 yards on only eight carries. He also scored a touchdown. Kris Graham carried the ball 11 times for 58 yards. He also scored on a two-point conversion. Dakovan Wise carried the ball four times for 30 yards and scored a touchdown. Preston Drewry scored a touchdown on a 10-yard run. Tanner Phillips got a touchdown on a 19-yard pass play.

Defensively, Norton and Preston Stinnett led the way for the Eagles with six tackles each. Granger Ezell had four tackles.

The seventh grade team got an 18-6 win prior to the junior game. The win capped an undefeated season for the team. The seventh grade team finished 7-0-1. The tie came against Atkins, which finished the season undefeated.
