Sister Annella Reginelli

Sister Annella Reginelli, 97, of Fort Smith died Oct. 18, 2013 at St. Scholastica Monastery. The family of Alexander and Anne Polodorio Reginelli welcomed their daughter, Settimia, into their family Sept. 25, 1915 in Lake Village. She became a novice on June 24, 1932 and received the name of Sister Annella. She began her teaching career in 1934 in Prairie View. Other teaching assignments were in Paris, Russellville, Fayetteville, North Little Rock and Charleston and in Verona, Mo. She taught and took care of children for 15 years at St. Joseph Orphanage in North Little Rock. She took care of children from 1987-97 after St. Joseph Orphanage became a day care center. Sister Annella retired to the monastery in 1997. She was proud of her rose garden and was delighted to share her roses with the sisters.

Preceding her in death are her parents, four sisters, Philomena, Teresa, Rosie, and Mary; five brothers, Ned, Mack, Pasquale, Gusto, and Septimo.

Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel with Reverend David LeSieur presiding. Burial was in St. Scholastica Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Vespers for the dead was held Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Monastery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Scholastica Monastery, P.O. Box 3489, Fort Smith, AR 72913.
