Richard Ray Dixon, 86, who resided near Branch, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Charleston.
He was born Oct. 15, 1927 in New Blaine to the late George Dixon and Carrie (Farnam) Dixon. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pauline (Price) Dixon.
He was a retired electrician at Whirlpool, Inc. in Fort Smith, a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, a cattle farmer, and an avid gardener.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 4, at Kersey Cemetery, located northeast of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
Officiating the service will be Gary Stubblefield.
He is survived by his daughter, Lora Bottoms of Van Buren; two sons, Roger Dixon of Branch and Larry Dixon of Lavaca; two brothers, George Dixon of Norman, Okla. and Roy Dixon of North Carolina; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
