Juanita Anita Edwards, 86, who resided in Charleston, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at her home.
She was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Spiro, Okla. to the late George Washington Baxter and Lucille P. (Cowan) Baxter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Toby Edwards. She was a retired sales clerk at Sears, Roebuck and Company in Fort Smith, a poultry farmer, a homemaker, and was a member of the Assembly of God.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Chaplain Todd Rowland officiating. Burial waS at 12 p.m. at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her daughter, Laverne Gray of Springhill, Fla.; three sons, Carl Toby Edwards, Jr. of San Bruno, Calif., Dan Edwards of Orangevale, Calif., and Stan Edwards of Ratcliff; one sister, Imogene Henry of Joplin, Mo.; one brother, George “Bo” Baxter of Pocola, Okla.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
