Catherine Louise Connelley (Katy Lou), 85, of McLean, Va., passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014.
She was born in Paris to Roy and Dora Sherrell Lloyd, March 21, 1929. She graduated from Paris High School and attended the University of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Earnest Clyde III.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clyde Connelley, Jr., Capt. USN Ret.; daughter Catherine Louise Barton and husband Tom of Shreveport, La.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Connelley of Arlington, Va.; brother Roy Sherrell Lloyd and wife Sue of Paris; nephew Mitchell Lloyd and wife Sharon of Rogers; niece Melissa Udouj and husband Dr. Henry Udouj, III of Ft. Smith; great nieces Hannah and Megan Lloyd, and Isabella Udouj; great nephew Joseph Udouj, IV.
As a loving and devoted Navy wife, she traveled the world. She lived many places including Norfolk, Va., Newport R.I., Key West, Fla., Brunswick, Ga., Long Beach, Calif., Coronado, Calif., Yokohama Japan and Guam.
Katy Lou has made an Anatomical Gift Donation of her body for scientific study to Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS).
A Christian Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Old Post Chapel at Ft. Myer, Va. A celebration reception will follow at the Ft. Myer Officers’ Club. Burial service at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
