Two arrested on drug charges; Shots reportedly fired

Officers with the 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force, the Paris Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at a Paris residence on Friday, Aug. 30 and arrested two people who will be charged with drug-related crimes, according to an incident report.

Arrested at 211 North Harrison Street were Cody Lee Cross, 24, and Ashley Jo Valentine, 23. Both subjects will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, according to Joe Patterson, an agent with the Drug Task Force.

Officers obtained the search warrant based on information from a confidential informant, according to Patterson. The information passed to the Paris Police Department and the Drug Task Force by Logan County Sheriff Steve Smith, according to Patterson.

The information led law enforcement to believe illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia used in the manufacture of methamphetamines was being housed at the residence.

Shots reportedly fired

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the Paris Police Department are seeking two suspects in connection with a report that shots were fired in the Paint Rock Community on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to an incident report.
