Residents of 15 homes on Pine Street in Paris are awaiting test results to see if a boil order affecting them can be lifted.
The homes, located on Pine Street between Fifth and 10th streets, were placed on the boil order Monday, according to Donnie Reames, head of the Paris Water Department.
“We had to lower that six-inch water line so we had to shut the water off Monday,” Reames said. “We got the water back on about 7 p.m. but they were without water for seven hours and any time it’s that long, we have to have a boil order.”
Water samples have been sent to the Arkansas Department of Health, Reames said.
“We should have them out from under the boil order by Thursday or Friday, depending on test results,” Reames said.
