Paris Middle School has been listed as a High Achieving Middle School by the University of Arkansas’ Office of Education Policy.
The listing was included in the OEP’s latest Outstanding Educational Performance Awards. The awards are based on a school’s Benchmark and End of Course exams. There were 10 other middle schools in the state making the list, according to PMS Principal Martha Dodson.
The High Achieving Middle School designation is given to middle schools — grades six to eight — that are high performing in math and literacy at the regional and state level. Paris Middle School contains grades five to eight.
“Being rated a high achieving school by an outside agency is a very big deal,” Dodson said. “I am absolutely proud of our teachers, students and staff because it was their hard work that makes something like this happen.”
