Filing period ends next week

The filing period for municipal offices in Logan County will close at noon on Friday, Aug. 15. The filing period opened at noon on Friday, July 15. The election will take place in November.
Paris, Scranton, Ratcliff, Subiaco, Morrison Bluff and Caulksville will be holding municipal elections in November.
So far, there have been no surprises.
Every Alderman in Paris whose seat is on the November ballot has filed for re-election. Paris Alderman Bret Sullivan filed last week. Sullivan represents Ward Two, Position 1. Paris Aldermen Raymond Sharum and David Rhineheart had previously filed for re-election. Sharum represents Ward One, Position 1 and Rhineheart represents Ward Three, Position 1.
Paris Mayor Daniel Rogers also filed for re-election last week. Rogers filed on Tuesday, July 29. Paris City Clerk Mary Sullivan has also filed for re-election. Julie White of Paris also filed for City Clerk. They had both previously announced plans to run.
Paris City Attorney Cory Wells has not filed for re-election, yet.
In Paris, candidates for city offices run as independents and in order to qualify for the ballot they have to submit a petition containing the signatures of 30 registered voters living in the city.
In Scranton, the Mayor and all six Alderman positions will be on the ballot. The Mayor is David Corbitt and the six Aldermen are James Tencleve, James Schwartz, James Ahne, Cody Alexander and Jerry J. Seifert.
In Ratcliff, the Mayor, Recorder-Treasurer and all six Alderman positions will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Roger Huey, the Recorder-Treasurer is Oleta Bennett and the Aldermen are Shirley Hice, Larry Hice, Lewis E. Bennett, Rose Bottoms, Suzanne Kellogg and Kenneth P. McCubbin.
All candidates in Scranton and Subiaco run as independents and must submit a petition containing the names of 10 registered voters living in the city in order to qualify for the ballot.
In Subiaco, the Mayor and all five members of the City Council will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Bobby Sewell and the only sitting Alderman listed in information provided by the County Clerk was Carol L. Geels.
In Morrison Bluff, The Mayor and all five Aldermen will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Joe A. Siebenmorgen. The Alderman are Randy J. Siebenmorgen, Gary M. Lensing, Charlotte K. Siebenmorgen, Francis Raible and Josephine Tencleve.
In Caulksville, the Mayor and all five Aldermen will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Richard Pettigrew. The Aldermen are Johnny Culver, Scott Lee, Bobby McCartney, Micky D. Mainer and Kedrick Paschal.
In Subiaco, Morrison Bluff and Caulksville, candidates run as independents and must submit a petition containing signatures of 10 registered voters living in the city
