A man and a woman living in Paris were arrested last week after Paris Police Department officers served a search warrant at a Crescent Drive residence. Officers recovered 12 items that had been reported stolen.
Haskal Dylan Swanson, 24, and Tara L. Vaughn, 34, both of Paris, have been charged with breaking or entering, possession of methamphetamines or cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, all felonies, theft of $1,000 or less from a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving valued at $1,000 or less, all misdemeanors.
Both suspects are presently in the Logan County Detention Center. Vaughn’s bond was set Friday at $5,000. No bond has been set on Swanson because he had previously plead guilty to a different felony and was free awaiting an opening at a Regional Correctional Facility, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
Among the items recovered during the search were a .38 caliber Keltec handgun, an Apple I-phone, a suitcase filled with various women’s clothing, three purses, a nylon book bag, two pair of sunglasses, a karaoke microphone, orange headphones and a bicycle. The items were valued at $1,275.
Officers also found five smoking devices and one snort tube, according to incident reports.
The report also notes that Swanson had turned himself into Logan County authorities at 5:40 a.m. on Monday, June 16 because he was wanted on an arrest warrant from an agency in the northwest part of the state.
The report notes that Logan County Dispatch confirmed the warrant on Sunday, June 15 and contacted the agency, which stated they would pick up Swanson. However, the report notes, on Monday, June 16, the agency refused to pick up Swanson and he was released from the Logan County Detention Center.
