A third candidate filed last week for Paris City Clerk, making the contest the most crowded municipal race, so far, in the city on the November ballot. The filing period closes at noon Friday.
The third candidate filing was Mary Beth Nehus. She will appear on the ballot with City Clerk Mary Sullivan and Julie White, who both filed earlier.
Paris, Scranton, Ratcliff, Subiaco, Morrison Bluff and Caulksville will hold municipal elections in November.
Every Alderman in Paris whose seat is on the November ballot has filed for re-election. They are Bret Sullivan representing Ward Two, Position 1, Raymond Sharum representing Ward One, Position 1, and David Rhineheart, representing Ward Three, Position 1. Paris Mayor Daniel Rogers has also filed for re-election to a second, four-year term. Also filing for re-election last week was Paris City Attorney Cory Wells.
In Paris, candidates for city offices run as independents and in order to qualify for the ballot they have to submit a petition containing the signatures of 30 registered voters living in the city.
In Scranton, Mayor David Corbitt and Aldermen James Tencleve, James Schwartz, James Ahne, Ernie Melton and Jerry J. Siefert have filed for re-election.
In Ratcliff, the Mayor, Recorder-Treasurer and all six Alderman positions will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Roger Huey, the Recorder-Treasurer is Oleta Bennett and the Aldermen are Shirley Hice, Larry Hice, Lewis E. Bennett, Rose Bottoms, Suzanne Kellogg and Kenneth P. McCubbin. None have filed yet.
All candidates in Scranton and Subiaco run as independents and must submit a petition containing the names of 10 registered voters living in the city in order to qualify for the ballot.
In Subiaco, the Mayor and all five members of the City Council will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Bobby Sewell, who has filed for re-election, and the only sitting Alderman listed in information provided by the County Clerk was Carol L. Geels.
In Morrison Bluff, The Mayor and all five Aldermen will be on the ballot. The Mayor is Joe A. Siebenmorgen. The Alderman are Randy J. Siebenmorgen, Gary M. Lensing, Charlotte K. Siebenmorgen, Francis Raible and Josephine Tencleve. None have filed for re-election yet.
In Caulksville, Mayor Richard Pettigrew filed for re-election last week along with. Aldermen Johnny Culver, Micky D. Mainer and Kedrick Paschal.
In Subiaco, Morrison Bluff and Caulksville, candidates run as independents and must submit a petition containing signatures of 10 registered voters living in the city.
Petitions can be filed at the Logan County Clerks’s office at the Courthouse in Paris.
