Wrecked car: This automobile driven by Carlos Mexia of Magazine came to rest next to a garage located on Highway 22 near the Paris-Subiaco Municipal Airport. Mexia was killed in the two-vehicle accident which took place last Friday.

A two vehicle accident on Highway 22 near the Paris-Subiaco Municipal Airport claimed the life of a 48-year-old Magazine man.

The accident took place at 4:43 on Friday, June 7. Carlos Mercedes Mexia of Magazine was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy Logan County Coroner.

According to the Arkansas State Police accident report, Mexia was driving a 2001 Mercury automobile west on Highway 22 when it exited a curve and veered left of the center line, striking a east bound Kenworth driven by Grover D. Reynolds of Warrensburg, Mo. Mexia’s vehicle then continued traveling southwest, through a ditch on the south side of the highway, into a garage parking lot, hitting two parked cars before striking the building.

Reynolds was not injured, according to the accident report.
