City swimming pool now open

The city swimming pool at Veterans Park is now open.

Operating hours for the public are Monday through Saturday from 1 pm to 5:30 pm and Sunday from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Admission is $1.50 per child (up to 18 years of age) and $2 per adult and includes one entrance into the pool complex. Children under 10 entering the pool complex must be accompanied and cared for by a responsible person 16 years old or older in swimming attire.

Season pool passes may be purchased for $35. Family passes may be purchased for $65 for a family of two, $90 for a family of three, $105 for a family of four, $120 for a family of five, and families of more than five add $15 for each additional family member. All family members must reside in the same household.

The city pool can be reserved for private parties nightly at $50 for a two-hour party which includes one lifeguard on duty. The pool staff must be notified in advance of parties of 35 or more people. Private parties can be scheduled every night of the week from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. or 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Swimming lessons will be held at the city pool beginning June 9. There will be three sessions: June 9-20, June 23–July 3, and July 7-18. Cost is $50 per session. Classes are held from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. and from 11 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. The minimum age for swimming lessons is four years old.
